Burning incense in Xiahe, China during Monlam. Labrang Monastery is a very neat looking monastery located in a valley. Pine is burning from the mountain side and from all the incense burners around the monastery. Monlam also known as The Great Prayer Festival, falls on 4th -11th day of the 1st Tibetan month in Tibetan Buddhism. The event in Tibet was established in 1409 by Tsong Khapa, the founder of the Geluk tradition.
